ME ME ME MElinda.

Good day friends! I’m Malinda Kay Nichols, and I live and love in Birmingham, AL with my husband Zack and hopelessly neurotic dog Tallula Jane. I just snagged the job of my dreams as a photo stylist for a charming little food magazine called Taste of the South. I love to bake, sew, decorate cakes and my house, read Harry Potter, ride my Vespa, and set my table with pretty things. I love rock and roll, paper/stationery, typography, textiles, the color blue (robin’s egg, even before it was cool), traveling anywhere, mid-century Americana, Jim Halpert, and New Kids on the Block. I don’t love seafood or passive aggression. If you come to my house I will bake cupcakes for you. I think it’s really swell that you took a few minutes out of your day to read my little blog; thank you sincerely, and please enjoy!

Tonight the streets are safe.

Hey Melinda,
I came across a post about you on the Simply Seleta blog and I looked at the pic and was like, “She looks so familiar!” I think we worked together at Southern Progress back in Jan-June of 07…or am I completely wrong? Haha! If I am, my face is currently blushing!
Regardless, your blog is great and I’m totally adding it to my blogroll over at designchampagne.wordpress.com.
Take care!

You probably don’t remember me, but I had a few classes with you in CTD a few years ago (History of Costume design and Apparel Construction with Mrs. Robinson). I stumbled upon your blog via facebook one day, and I love it! It’s one of my most visited bookmarks…just thought I’d let you know! Keep up the inspiring work!

Hi Melinda,
Great blog and yummy cakes and cupcakes. Would you mind telling me how you did the treasure map for the pirate cake? How did you get the colours so perfect and everything else! Thanks amyma@shaw.ca
